A dogged German art detective, attempting to find medieval art treasures seized by the Nazis, travels through the New York art world and military archives to the unlikeliest of destinations: a small town on the Texas prairie. The film questions the motivations of the art thief and the whereabouts of the items that, to this day, remain waiting to be discovered.
Movie followed by a Question and Answer session with the director, Cassie Hay, after the movie.

Holiday at Home – A creative class + collaboration between Holly Mathis Interiors and Historic Downtown Brenham, Texas.
You’re invited to Holiday at Home – a weekend of fun, hands-on learning with Holly Mathis Interiors and Friends. Join us Friday night for a special showing of the film classic, The Holiday, in beautiful Simon Theater. Sample cozy holiday-inspired treats during the movie followed by a group discussion led by Holly Mathis on the interiors shown in the movie.
On Saturday, spend the day with Holly who will share her personal design journey and decorating philosophy along with professional tips and techniques for refreshing your home for the holidays. Topics include prioritizing projects to completion and seasonal decorating ideas featuring a lively discussion with Holly’s friend and floral and interior designer, Keith Taylor of Arkansas.
Attendees will wrap the weekend with a holiday market report from home expert, Jennifer Hermann of Hermann Furniture (Texas’ oldest furniture store), personal shopping opportunities, Blue Bell ice cream treats, coffee, and swag bags from local businesses and resources compliments of Holly Mathis Interiors!

After inadvertently wreaking havoc on the elf community due to his ungainly size, a man raised as an elf at the North Pole is sent to the U.S. in search of his true identity. Featuring Will Ferrell, James Caan and Bob Newhart.

The Griswold family’s plans for a big family Christmas hosting their dysfunctional relatives for the holiday as the dad contends with spontaneously combusting Christmas lights and temperamental trees while anticipating the arrival of his annual bonus. Featuring Chevy Chase, Beverly D’Angelo and Juliette Lewis.

A young boy embarks on a magical adventure to the North Pole on the Polar Express. During his adventure he learns about friendship, bravery, and the spirit of Christmas.
“It’s a Wonderful Life” (PG) – December 2 – 2:00pm
An angel is sent from Heaven to help a desperately frustrated businessman by showing him what life would have been like if he had never existed. Featuring James Stewart, Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore.
Bruce Robison & Kelly Willis’ Annual Holiday Shindig – December 10 – 5:00pm
The almost-annual event that began in 1999–the couple took one year off for the birth of their twins— has become a tradition for their family and the families of their fans.
Bruce’s and Kelly’s holiday performance finds the husband-and-wife duo of singer-songwriters with a full band singing songs from their Christmas album Happy Holidays. But the show isn’t all about the holidays, it is also a showcase of the best of Kelly and Bruce’s solo careers which continue to flourish with their new CD.
Bruce says the shows each year are very special to the couple because of the way it brings back memories, “You think about the people you love, friends, family, how lucky you are to have known them.” He understands the wistfulness of the season and the dream of a Christmas that may have never been.

Texas Gardens & Interiors with Holly Mathis – March 3
The Texas Home & Garden class will feature local interior designer Holly Mathis and beloved Brenham garden and design diva Carolyn Matejowsky. They will discuss some of their favorite Texas interiors, antiques and gardens past and present and share their tips and tricks for keeping spaces inside and out fresh for spring!

“The Dawn of Washington County” Movie in the newly restored Hasskarl Auditorium (historic Simon Theatre) on Saturdays. Movie is shown at 11am, 1pm & 2pm and is approximately 25 entertaining minutes about how Brenham became Brenham. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Buy tickets in the Visitors Center.
